The Federation of Buddhist Women’s Associations invites all temple members and friends to march with us in the Martin Luther King, Jr. parade on Monday, January 20, 2020.

MLK parade 2014 - Norman with cranes
Peace cranes are a big hit with festival-goers. We pass out small ones to children and others along the way.
The parade will begin at Magic Island at 9:00 a.m. and will proceed along Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park, about a two-mile route. Pacific Buddhist Academy typically provides a bus for those who cannot walk.

Be festive!! Wear purple or a temple or organization shirt… help us to pass out origami cranes to onlookers… they love that!

We welcome all temple members and friends, Dharma school students, YBA members, PBA students, and more.

Come to Magic Island at about 8:00. Parking is limited; allow time for parking nearby and walking to the start. Carpooling is encouraged.

See you there! We’ll be wearing purple!

Martin Luther King Jr NYWTS“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
