A number of Hawaii BWA organizations maintain a sister district relationship with a BWA organization in Japan or another part of the world. The program was established by resolution with the following goals:
- to promote a close relationship among the Fujinkai/BWA members;
- to awaken the self-consciousness of the Buddhist women;
- to advance a worldwide Buddhist women’s movement and thereby,
- to promulgate the Buddha-Dharma throughout the world.
