Theme & Music for WBWC 2027

Japanese:
平和とアロハに包まれて お念仏とともに生きよう

Portuguese:
Vivamos a paz, vivamos Aloha, vivamos unidos no Nembutsu

The 2027 WBWC theme committee was led by Rev. Blayne Higa. Other members of the committee were Rev. Yuika Hasebe, Rev. Barbara Brennan, Rev. Kazunori Takahashi, Rev. David Fujimoto, Lois Toyama, BJ Soriano, and Bishop Toshiyuki Umitani.
The translation of the theme in Japanese was shared by Rev. Kazunori Takahashi and Rev. Yuika Hasebe.
The translation of the theme in Portuguese was done by Rev. Kyoya Imai, former staff member of the Hongwanji Internation Center in Kyoto, Japan.

Convention Theme Song

An original song for the world convention, “Live Peace, Live Aloha, Live As One in the Nembutsu,” was composed by BJ Soriano of Hilo Betsuin, with piano accompaniment by Michael O. Springer. We’re happy to provide the audio file and music sheets here for your enjoyment and practice.
